José Gutiérrez, born and raised in Michoacán, Mexico, is a proud Chicago immigrant and owner of La Orquidea Event Planning Company. José’s event planning expertise stems from his exquisite creative floral experience for over 20 years, and it dates back to his raizes in his hometown Sahuayo, Michoacán and tributes his mamá’s tender love for flores.
Acquired in 2002 by José as “Floreria Bianca’s Flores”, this Latino, immigrant-owned business, has been a cornerstone of the La Villita community for over 20 years. Over time, José’s vision expanded from floral arrangements to extravagant event planning, leading to a brand revamp to “La Orquidea Event Planning”.
Known for its creative, one-of-a-kind floral arrangements and seamless event planning, La Orquidea Event Planning highlights the richness of Mexican culture and honors its heritage, reflecting José’s dedication to tradition, trust, and transparency.
